2025 is almost upon us, and with TV schedules still in disarray following Christmas, you may well be wondering when you can tune into the soaps next week. It’s set to be a busy time for both the BBC and ITV as they serve up a jam-packed TV menu, including a fond farewell documentary to Gavin and Stacey, the return of hit gameshow The Traitors and the finale of crime drama Vera.
This means that Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders will air in different time slots – with some soaps, such as Neighbours, not airing at all. There’s also a new series of Casualty that kicks off this weekend. Down at Hollyoaks its business as usual, but you might have already seen these episodes in their festive boxset drop.
Luckily for you, Metro has all the goss on when you can tune in. Call it an belated present from us!. On New Year’s Eve, we can expect a shorter, half an hour trip to Weatherfield at the later time of 8:15pm. Luckily, we’re boosted up to a full hour on New Year’s Day itself, airing at 7pm.
As usual, there is no episode on Thursday January 2nd. Carla Connor (Alison King) faces a terrifying ordeal this January when she is rushed into hospital with sepsis and told that she needs another kidney transplant. Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) is set to return to our screens in 2025 as son Bobby (Jack Carroll) attempts to appeal to his better nature in the hopes of convincing him to be an organ donor.
