In a blink and you'll miss it moment, the tan dog casually wandered across the studio behind fill-in anchors Monique Wright and Michael Usher at 6.41am. Mark Beretta had just finished covering the daily sports news when the camera cut back to the main desk.

All seemed to be well as the team didn't appear to notice anything odd happening on set as they spoke about the recent Dakar Rally happening in Saudi Arabia. However, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a furry streak crossing the screen as someone's dog passed behind the anchors and exited stage left.

Despite passing right by newsreader Amber Laidler's chair on its way out, each of the hosts were the picture of professionalism as they pretended not to see the pooch.

However, it seems host Monique, 51, did notice the dog as moments before it was spotted on screen, she could be seen subtly reaching beneath her desk to pet it. She quickly pulled her hand back up as the camera's cut back to her following coverage of sports news, and moments later the dog wandered off set.
