An £11.52million superyacht has been spotted billowing with flames after mysteriously catching fire in the coast of Spain. The 110-ft-long pleasure craft was moored in a port in Sotogrande, Cadiz, when harbour officials spotted smoke rising from the stern.
By the time firefighters arrived, strong winds had created an inferno that had engulfed the entire vessel. Dramatic footage shows the boat engulfed by flames as smoke billows out, while music eerily plays in the background. A seperate clip shows how the luxury yacht was doused with water from a crane in attempts to put the fire out.
As the fire raged, police officers cordoned off the area and evacuated nearby buildings at 6:30pm on Monday. And it wasn’t until 5am the next morning that the last embers were extinguished. It took seven vehicles and 12 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, according to the Cádiz Provincial Firefighters Consortium.
