ALDI has brought back it's McDonald's Happy Meal rip-off - it's half the price and fans say the chips are better. The budget supermarket's party meal kits were introduced last autumn but have made a sudden return. One box contains 12 chicken nuggets, two tomato ketchup dips, two French fries and two orange ice coolers.
They feed two kids and cost just £3.99 - with the contents suitable for the air fryer. The average McDonald's Happy Meal for one person is £4.09. A delighted shopper spotted the product's return, posting a snap on Facebook page Snack Reviews. He wrote: "Kids Party Meal Kits now back at ALDI.".
One commenter said: "My eldest prefers this to real McDonald's.". Another added: "A real treat.". A third said: "My teenage daughter loves these ‘unhappy meals’ quick easy treat!". On fellow Facebook bargain page Newfoodsuk, one happy shopper said: "My two had this for lunch today as a little treat - they said it feels just like they've been to McDonald's- tastes different but is still really good! They loved it.
"The extra nugget caused a little issue though.". When cooked at Electric 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6, the chicken nuggets will be ready to eat in just 18 to 20 minutes, whilst the chips take just 15 minutes. In September last year, posting on the official @aldiuk Instagram page, the much-loved chain shared a snap of the new kits and wrote: “Back to school means back to busy days!.
