McDonald’s launches new way for customers to get discounts on food

McDonald’s has launched a new weekly deal drop - and the first discounts are available from today. The fast food chain will release three new offers every Monday through its McDonald’s App. These deals will be available in the Rewards and Offers section in the app, where they can be used by the customer on relevant purchases. For example, some of the offers include 20% off the entire menu, £2 off when you spend £10, or six McNuggets for just 99p.

These deals can be redeemed all week until January 26 - after this, they will only be available on a Monday, so for one day only. Each deal can only be redeemed once and can be used in-store or if you’re ordering delivery through the McDonald’s app. You can’t use them with Uber Eats, Deliveroo or Just Eat.

McDonald's teased the news on its Instagram page. Kat Howcroft, Digital and Media Director at McDonald’s, said: “McDonald’s is the home of value, and we wanted to enter a new year by giving back to our customers and building on the popularity of McDonald’s Mondays. This inspired us to launch an even more generous offering, in the form of Deal Drop.

“Deal Drop is a supercharged value platform that gives our customers incredible savings on their favourite menu items at the start of the year when we are all feeling the pinch, and we are excited to continue the offering throughout 2025 on our app.”.

It comes as McDonald's has just announced its January menu - with three new items arriving from January 8 for a six-week period. First up, there is the new Chicken Katsy One wrap which consists of either a crispy or grilled chicken, covered in katsu sauce, alongside crispy onions, cucumber, and fresh lettuce, wrapped in a toasted tortilla.
