Alejandro Garnacho backed into corner amid fresh Man Utd transfer concerns

Alejandro Garnacho looks set to stay at Manchester United this month with little interest forthcoming in a deal for the young winger. United are looking to sell players to enable new boss Ruben Amorim to make significant adjustments to his squad this month and to comply with profit and sustainability rules. Amorim is making his mark at Old Trafford and has put his ideas and 3-4-3 formation in place since replacing Erik ten Hag, but wants to make personnel changes as soon as possible.
However, United need to bring in funds through player sales to make that happen, while also giving Amorim what he needs. And getting the likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony - and their hefty salaries - off the books, while recouping substantial transfer fees that would help with PSR is proving difficult.

The 20 year-old’s stock has dropped at United since the change of manager, with Amad ahead of him in Amorim’s thinking - particularly since his star turn in the win at Manchester City, a match for which Garnacho was dropped.
The Argentina international has since made five appearances, but United would look at offers in excess of £60million for him this month and, under PSR regulations, any sale would represent 100 percent profit on the club’s balance sheet, like it would with Rashford, but not the aforementioned Brazilian pair.
