Enzo Maresca played down Chelsea's £60million links to Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho on Friday, saying he is satisfied with the wingers he currently has. Maresca name-checked academy starlet Tyrique George as someone who he feels can help on the left wing amid Mykhailo Mudryk's absence after facing a doping test.

Chelsea travel to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday and reports this week suggested a bid is incoming for Garnacho. Blues sources have suggested that talk is premature, claiming the 20-year-old is currently a player of interest and nothing more.

Alejandro Garnacho could leave Manchester United this month with Chelsea among his suitors. Enzo Maresca is happy with his current crop of wingers - including on-loan star Jadon Sancho. Maresca added to that as he said at his pre-match press conference: 'I'm happy with the ones we have in this moment. I have said many times, on the right side is Pedro (Neto) and Noni (Madueke) and on the left side is Jadon (Sancho). Misha (Mudryk) was with us but now he is not with us, Tyrique is a young profile that can help us. In this moment, we are okay.'.

Romeo Lavia remains sidelined, but Maresca insists Chelsea do not need to sign a new midfielder. Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill could return to the squad for the trip to City. Meanwhile, Maresca also defended Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after the mistake he made to concede an equaliser to Wolves on Monday. Chelsea went on to win 3-1.

'Robert is okay,' he said. 'It's a matter for me to understand that anything can happen. How many times has Moi (Caicedo) missed a pass? Many times. How many times has Nico (Jackson) missed a goal? Many times. How many times has Noni (Madueke) missed a cross? Many times. Robert has made four mistakes.'.
