Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca insists that he's happy with his lot amid speculation that the Blues want to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. Garnacho, 20, has been linked with a shock move to Stamford Bridge after it emerged that United are willing to listen to offers for virtually their entire squad. The Red Devils are skirting dangerously close to breaching Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, as confirmed by the club in a recent statement issued to supporters.
Chelsea have been tipped to capitalise with a swoop for £70million-rated Garnacho, who played the full 90 minutes in United's dramatic 2-1 win against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday. But judging by Maresca's comments, it's not their manager who's pushing to sign the Spanish-born Argentina international.
"I'm happy with what we have at this moment," Maresca said on Friday. "I said many times, on the right side it's Pedro [Neto] and Noni [Maduake], left side Jadon [Sancho] and Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] was with us, now he's not with us. Tyrqiue [George] is the profile that can help us. In this moment we are okay.".
United boss Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, has refused to rule out the prospect of Garnacho leaving before transfer deadline day. Asked post-match if the former Atletico Madrid hotshot had played his final game for United, Amorim replied: "I am focused on the games and he is here, he is here playing for Manchester United. He was really important for us today so let's see in the next days.".
