This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is turning 50 next week and is planning to take a year off from her TV commitments. The bubbly TV personality has added another show to her diary and is currently appearing on the ten part travel show Alison Hammond’s Florida Unpacked with her son Aidan. The series sees Alison stepping away from her role on This Morning and For the Love of Dogs. But Alison has revealed she wants to take some time out of her busy schedule in the not to distant future.

Speaking to Heat magazine, Alison said: “In the next ten years, I want to travel the world, I would love to take a year off and just go and travel. Not just yet, but one day. I need to see the world before I die!”. Alison’s new BBC travel series has her travelling to one of her favourite destinations, but exploring a different side of Florida than she or Aidan have seen before as they try out a medieval adventure, zoom across the Everglades in an airboat, hang out with the Miami Dolphins and see life beyond the state’s theme parks.

“You also get to see the love between Aidan and I,” she said about the show. “With a teenager, they don’t really want to spend time with their parents, so the fact that I got to spend time with him was really special. Aidan is the one person who really makes me laugh. He’s a chilled out carbon copy of me. My biggest achievement is Aidan. I feel proud that I have been successful in bringing him up to be a nice human being.”.

Before the show’s debut on Monday, Aidan chatted about working on screen with his mum. "I really enjoyed it, especially the car rides,” he said. “There was just so much laughter. But also, loads of arguments - mainly about directions! She always thought she knew where she was going, and I'd be telling her she was going the wrong way.".
