Recounting his experience, he said: "We eventually got put into a taxi and he offered us a complimentary drink - a complimentary drink, which I confirmed with him after several conversations, that it was going to be a free drink.
"Obviously, I'm quite a nice guy, I thought 'you know what, it won't be a free drink, because I'm going to tip him 200 Lira anyway', which is around £4/£5 for two cans of very, very cheap beer, so still he would have been turning a profit.
"I then get to the end of where I've got to get to, get to the hotel, go to give him the 200 and he goes 'No, no, no.
He explained that, although he's been to Turkey previously without any issues, he was taken aback when the scam caught him on the very first day of his latest stay.
He was trying to charge me 800 Lira, which is like £16 I believe, for two cans of incredibly cheap beer, and he was becoming very aggressive.
