Amazon is shutting down huge mobile app and offering affected users refunds – check if you’re eligible

It will continue to exist on Amazon Fire TVs and Amazon Fire tablets, where the platform is the main app store available.

"Starting August 20, 2025, you will no longer have access to the Amazon Appstore on your Android device," the firm said.

Any coins remaining by August 20, when Amazon Appstore closes for good, will be refunded.

Amazon Appstore acted as a third party alternative to Google Play, with more than 500,000 apps.

Amazon Appstore has already been pulled from the Google Play Store.
