The Amazon Coins program - a virtual currency used to purchase apps, games, and in-app items from the Amazon app store - will also end on August 20.

A message on a support page reads: "Starting August 20, 2025, you will no longer have access to the Amazon Appstore on your Android device.

It adds: "Starting August 20, 2025, any apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore will not be guaranteed to operate on Android devices.

Coins are no longer available for sale, and anyone who still holds coins on August 20 will be refunded, TechCrunch reports.

We will also be discontinuing the Amazon Coins program on August 20, 2025.
