Flight 2863 was preparing to depart Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas when a man showed a flight attendant something on his tablet, according to passenger Bruce Steen, 63.
An American Airlines flight from New York to New Delhi was diverted to land in Rome due to security threat.
They had been due to fly from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Dehli.
American Airlines said: ‘The flight will stay in Rome overnight to allow for required crew rest before continuing to Delhi as soon as possible tomorrow.’.
The flight attendant informed the cockpit and the pilot announced that the airplane would be going back to the gate because of an ‘administrative issue’, Steen told ABC News.
