An American living in the UK has named several types of foods that British people love but that she finds “gross,” even after living in the country for 10 years. Despite enjoying life in Yorkshire, an area of Northern England., there are some things this TikToker struggles to accept - especially when it comes to food. American and British cuisines are notably different, and people naturally have different tastes. While some food combinations might seem delicious to one person, others may find them “gross.” TikToker Yorkshire Peach shared her honest opinions on a few British food combinations, claiming she “can’t do it” despite their popularity among Brits. Her list included pork pies, curry sauce on chips, and prawn sandwiches.
Starting with the infamous pork pie, she said: “That pork pie, I can’t do it. They’re not nice. And some people eat it cold.” Recalling a time when a friend served her a pork pie with mushy peas, she described the experience as “diabolical.” Next on her list were prawn sandwiches. Although she enjoys prawns and sandwiches separately, she argued that they “just don’t go together,” describing the taste as “just so bad.” Lastly, she addressed curry sauce on chips. While this combination is a staple and a favourite among many Brits, it seemed to be her least favourite. Describing it as “French fries with this on it,” the TikToker explained that, while she loves chips and sauces, she refuses to eat chips dipped in curry sauce.
