Antony's exit signals imminent Man Utd arrival as Ruben Amorim hatches transfer plan

Ruben Amorim has reportedly approved Antony's move to Real Betis on the condition that his exit means Manchester United will bring in a replacement. Antony has struggled for form since making a big money move to Old Trafford back in 2022 for around £84million. He is yet to make a Premier League start under Amorim and has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe.
However, Spanish outlet Relevo are reporting that he is on the verge of joining Betis on loan until the end of the season. The report states that Amorim has given the 'final green light' to the move, having 'requested reinforcements' before approving the deal.
Betis are set to pay a portion of Antony's wages and the LaLiga club are keen for him to join as soon as possible, with the winger waiting to fly out to Spain to undergo his medical. When asked about Antony's future last month, Amorim suggested his struggles were simply down to a lack of belief. "He needs more confidence. If you remember the Antony at Ajax, he lacks a little bit of confidence to go one-v-one, so he will improve," he said.
"But he's working really hard, he's trying, he's playing more inside than outside, especially in this game (against Tottenham ). You have to do that to work really hard and that will help him to be a better player.". However, Amorim has favoured the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Amad and Alejandro Garnacho ahead of Antony in his 3-4-3 system. It remains to be seen who United will bring in to replace Antony, but Amorim has made it clear that he wants to strengthen his squad if possible.
