Armed police arrest man after six-hour standoff over suspected firearm in Carshalton

A man has been arrested after armed police surrounded a home in Carshalton following an alleged assault and the presence of a firearm. Officers were called to Bramblewood Close at 8:45am on Thursday after receiving reports of an assault at a residential address.
The incident escalated when the suspect produced what appeared to be a firearm, forcing officers to call in armed backup. Following nearly six hours of negotiations, specialist armed officers arrested the suspect at around 2:50pm on suspicion of firearms offences.
