Liverpool have contacted Nurnberg over a summer transfer for Stefanos Tzimas. The forward has racked up eight goals in 15 Bundesliga 2 appearances this term and has drawn interest from Chelsea, Brighton and Aston Villa. The Greek under-21 international has seen the Reds act as they look to lay the groundwork over a deal, per reports.
Tzimas is currently on loan with Nurnberg from PAOK but the German side are in control of his future as they have the possibility of activating his €18million (£15.2m) buy option. A swift exit looks set to be on the cards for the striker however, with the Bavarian side eyeing an easy profit.
Sporting director Olaf Rebbe admitted a move for Tzimas could be possible come the end of the season. The 46-year-old said: “We won’t give up any top performers in the winter, but with a view to the summer, we are of course already looking at a few options.”.
