Bear Grylls paid a sweet tribute to his Celebrity Bear Hunt co-star Holly Willoughby during an appearance on Good Morning Britain. The iconic survivalist appeared on the ITV show on Wednesday, 5 February, to chat to hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid about the new Netflix series. Having teased what fans can expect to see in Celebrity Bear Hunt, which launched on Netflix on 5 February, Bear went on to open up about working with ITV star Holly, branding her "humble" and "brave".
As Susanna reflected on Holly's tough times over recent years, Bear said, "Holly has a beautiful spirit—she really does. As you say, she's overcome many tough things in her life.". He continued: "I think everybody on this show - myself, the cast, and Holly - all of us were out of our comfort zone. It's a full on, committing experience in there. "But I think the jungle does a lot of that for us. It challenges us and builds us up. I came away at the end of that thinking, 'What a remarkable lady'. Humble, brave, determined.".
Holly, who stepped down from her role on ITV's This Morning in 2023 and took a break from the spotlight, previously revealed that agreeing to host Celebrity Bear Hunt was a "no-brainer.". "When Bear called and described the premise of the show, I was like, 'Okay, well, it sounds great. It also sounds like a show that my kids would love - they love Bear - so it was a bit of a no-brainer," she explained to MailOnline. "This was definitely a 'yes' on a spot.".
Celebrity Bear Hunt sees 12 celebrities venture into the Costa Rican jungle, where they become the targets of survival expert Bear. The contestants must navigate the challenging environment, complete various survival tasks, and evade capture by Grylls while avoiding being eliminated as the show goes on. The line-up consists of Joe Thomas, Kola Bokinni, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Leomie Anderson, Lottie Moss, Mel B, Shirley Ballas, Steph McGovern, Una Healy, Big Zuu, Boris Becker and Danny Cipriani.
