Two cafés in the US have sparked a fierce online debate after a video revealed some branches encouraging customers to leave tips based on whether they were in support of Blake Lively or Justin Baldoni amid their lawsuit drama. The American chains, Boba Time and Dutch Bros, have been at the centre of a social media row after a TikToker posted a clip showing one venue leaving out plastic cups with the celebrities' faces stuck on them.
In the since deleted video, social media user @marianathedoll13 filmed themselves peering into both cups, with the Jane The Virgin star's cup significantly more packed with cash compared to his It Ends With Us co-lead; which contained just a few coins. A second post on X also showed the drive-thru coffee vendor Dutch Bros decorating their gratuity jars with the celebs' names. But as the the legal spat between the Hollywood A-listers continues to develop, a number of the Gossip Girl actress's supporters have rushed to her defence, lamenting their 'disgust' at the chains and pledging to avoid them. Others even fired off enraged complaints.
Reposting the TikTok to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user, @dollyhartz, blasted the popular Boba tea chain for having 'learned nothing'. Next to the reposted video, which has now been viewed 163,900 times, they wrote: 'You’ve got to be f*****g kidding me they’re doing the tip jars too now they’ve learned absolutely nothing.'. Others pledged to take their 'business elsewhere' with another would 'cause a scene' if they had witnessed it themselves.

A second post also showed the drive-thru coffee Dutch Bros putting out cups encouraging customers to tip based on their favoured A-lister amid the fierce legal saga. A second who reposted the video lamented: 'They always think they’re making a point when they show how much more money gets put in the man’s tip jar, as if the kind of people who actually support victims would ever want to participate in this nonsense. If I ever see that s**t in person, I’m taking my business elsewhere.'.
A third added: 'I’ve come to the conclusion that some women can’t live without male validation. They must throw women under the bus bc their to stupid to stand on their own. Pathetic losers.'. Another fuming viewer even said they had gone as far as to reach out to the company to 'curse' them out. 'I wrote to the business and cursed them out. I followed the link straight to their contact page. Classless! This Blake and Justin case has recalled revealed so much about humanity. Both line in, we are all doomed. Empathy is DEAD.'.
But not everyone was an enraged with one user defending the chain. They wrote: 'Maybe it depends on the spot but I've been to others and their tip jars are nothing outrageous.'. And it wasn't only the Boba Café to have jumped on the tip trend. The Twitter user, @dollyhartz, also posted a picture from what is reportedly a Dutch Bros branch in the US - similarly putting out tip cups for patrons to pick their side.

In the picture, which claims to have been taken at the drive-thru coffee chain, there are two plastic cups with Post It notes with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni written on them. In the picture, both cups appear to be stuffed with dollar bills.
Several Blake Lively supported critcised the tip jars in the comments. One wrote: 'PLEASE. I was telling my brother to reach over and knock them down.'. 'The way I would've reached over and smacked that s**t to the ground,' said a second. A third even asked for the name of the particular branch, insisting they would 'leave a review'. The pair of It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are currently embroiled in a fierce legal battle following accusations made from filming the blockbuster.
Recently, Justin Baldoni revealed he is suing Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for $400million. An insider recently claimed the reason for this figure was because the hefty sum is said to be close to their combined net worth and he wants to bankrupt them. The legal saga began when Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment in December - allegations he staunchly denies. At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on her legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a smear campaign against her.
Justin Baldoni is suing Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for $400million because the sum is said to be close to their combined net worth and he wants to bankrupt them, sources claim. Reynolds, 48, and Lively, 37, reportedly have a combined net worth of $380million (pictured at the Deadpool & Wolverine New York Premiere in July 2024). Baldoni hit back by suing the publication for defamation before launching the $400million lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds earlier last month, in which he accused the Hollywood pair of conspiring to trash his reputation with the allegations.
