A boss's brutal text exchange after firing a staff member has left thousands of people stunned. British career expert Ben Askins shared the exchange on TikTok and slammed the manager's cold-hearted approach. The shocking messages, allegedly sent between a boss and another employee, start with the manager breaking the news of the termination: 'Did you hear about Matt?'.

'No, what happened?' the employee asked, to which the boss simply responded: 'I fired him this morning'. What followed shocked the other worker - and many on social media. 'What? Why?' they asked, only for the boss to casually reply, 'He was f***ing useless lol [sic]'.

When the stunned colleague questioned if it was a joke, the boss doubled down. 'No joke. Been thinking about it for a while, and then he was late twice this week. I'm too busy to be worrying about whether or not people can be bothered to turn up on time.'.
