Steven Gerrard's eldest daughter, Lilly-Ella, has announced she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Lee Byrne, who is the son of a jailed gangster. The 20-year-old shared a photo of her positive pregnancy test alongside the message: "Our little secret. The best news... mini us is on the way.".
Lilly-Ella's partner, Lee, is the son of jailed Irish gangster Liam Byrne. The 44-year-old was arrested in Spain in 2023 and was jailed in October 2024 for five years for weapons charges. Byrne Snr pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import firearms. He is expected to only serve half of his sentence - and had already served 14 months in custody when he was convicted late last year.
Lee is completely smitten with Lilly-Ella, having previously referred to her as "the best person he's ever met". They were first linked to each other just over two years ago. In October 2022, it was revealed that Lilly, then just 18, was in a relationship with Lee, then 23, after they were spotted holidaying together in Ibiza the previous summer. Lee himself is not involved in any criminal activities, but his father, Dubliner Liam, has a notorious reputation.
Gerrard and his wife, Alex Curran, are currently based in Bahrain after Gerrard signed up to become Al-Ettifaq's head coach back in 2023. The former Liverpool and England legend, 44, has four children with his wife: daughters Lilly, Lexie, 18, and Lourdes, 13, and an eight-year-old son, Leo.
Gerrard penned a two year contract extension with the Saudi Pro League outfit last January to take his terms through to 2027. He guided the club to a sixth-placed finish in his maiden campaign but has endured a difficult second season at the helm, fuelling speculation over his long-term future in the Middle East.
