Jack Whitehall has been announced as the host of the Brit Awards 2025, making it the fifth time the comedian has hosted the music awards show. A confirmation post posted on Instagram confirmed that the comedian would be returning to the show after a four-year hiatus.
The comic requested in the caption of the post that fans ‘don’t call it a comeback’. The stand-up star – who last hosted the awards show in 2021 commented: ‘They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that is absolutely the case with the BRIT Awards.
‘It is my favourite night of the year.’. The video announcing his return as host was a spoof that saw Jack pitch various ideas about how to announce that he was the host. In the video, Jack said: ‘We need a slogan, “Jack’s back”, which is a bit boring, maybe?.
He then suggested: ‘”Once you go Jack you never go back?” Then we cross out the never?’. He then suggested dressing as Trump or releasing a Stormzy track, or perhaps getting a piggy back from Lewis Capaldi. He also pretended to call Niall Horan and Olly Murs to get them to assist him in his hosting endeavour.
In 2021, after hosting for four consecutive years from 2018, Jack announced that he was stepping down as the host. The star revealed on X at the time: ‘Sad to say after 4 brilliant years, I’ll be handing on the baton as I’ll be in the US filming another project at the top of next year.
