Jack Whitehall has been announced as the host of the BRIT Awards for the 2025 ceremony - returning four years after he last helmed the show. The 36-year-old comedian hosted the awards from 2018 until 2021 and will be back this year to take control of proceedings again. However, his return is "not a comeback" according to show bosses.
Jack's return was announced on Wednesday night as the official BRIT Awards social media channels shared the news. However, an accompanying message stated: "Don’t call it a comeback. @jackwhitehall returns to host BRITs 2025.". An accompanying video showed Jack standing in the "BRITS Strategy Room" as he tried to figure out the winning formula to hosting the ceremony. Addressing the camera, the comedian says: "So I’ve had some ideas for the announcement video to cut through the noise.
"We need a slogan… ‘Jack’s Back!’ Yeah. Bit boring maybe? Once you go Jack, you never go back. And then we cross out the ‘never’.” A voice then asks: “Have we got anything else?” And the Fresh Meat actor says: “Maybe I’m getting bogged down in the puns…".
He then references returning American president Donald Trump by suggesting: "Make the Brits great again". He then adds: "Spray me orange, I do the dance." But the reviewing voice suggests that the plan might not please all viewers. He then suggests a parody version of a popular song, referencing tracks by Stormzy and Taylor Swift. Footage then shows him trying to convince Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi to join him in a sketch, only for the star not to recognise who Jack is.
