A UNITED Airlines business class passenger has been banned from flying after they allegedly peed on a stranger during a long-haul flight. Jerome Gutierrez was travelling from San Francisco to Manila, Philippines when a fellow passenger got up from his seat and started to pee on him some four hours after takeoff.
Mr Gutierrez, who was asleep at the time of the shocking incident, had to remain seated wearing his soaked clothes for eight more hours. Nicole Cornell, Gutierrez’s stepdaughter, told SFGATE: "[Gutierrez] was asleep and buckled in and was surprised when he looked at the man.
"He thought he was dreaming before realising he was soaked from his stomach down in that man's urine.". Cornell added that the flight attendants asked Gutierrez “not to approach the man in fear that there would be a confrontation and he would become violent.”.
She said: "I am so disgusted and in shock with how United Airlines handled this. "That is a biohazard, and the plane should’ve turned around to address this issue. They put the needs of the airline before my stepdad‘s health.". It is understood the man who allegedly urinated on Gutierrez later apologised and begged him “not to press charges.”.
A spokesperson for United Airlines told the New York Post that a man was banned from flying after “a passenger disturbance” on the flight. They said: "On December 28 we asked police to meet our flight when it arrived in Manila to address a passenger disturbance. We have banned the passenger.".
