Cadbury makes major change to Easter chocolate for first time ever

From Mini Eggs to Creme Eggs and a festive version of virtually every chocolate going, Cadbury is undoubtedly the king of Easter chocolate in the UK. But the brand isn’t just making waves in terms of taste: it’s now unveiled its first pouch made entirely from paper as part of this year’s Easter range.

Amid a market completely saturated with plastic packaging, the Cadbury Easter Favourites Pouch, which includes Mini Cadbury Dairy Milk Eggs, treat-sized bags of Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs, will be more environmentally friendly this year. Cadbury isn’t the only chocolate brand to have dipped its toe into the waters of paper packaging, as Nestlé’s Smartie products have also previously switched up to save on plastic.

‘We’re excited to be bringing retailers and shoppers our brand-new Easter Favourites Pouch and our expanded range of shell eggs across a variety of brands this Easter, with something to suit all tastes and occasions,’ Cadbury Easter senior brand manager Charlotte Parkes told The Grocer.
‘We’re confident our varied Easter 2025 lineup will generate excitement among shoppers and help retailers bolster their seasonal offerings, as well as helping to boost their gifting and sharing sales.’. The paper packaging isn’t the only cause of excitement for this year’s offerings.
At Christmas, Cadbury famously blends milk and white chocolate with its Winter Wonderland Bar, but now, it’s drawing on a similar concept for Easter with the new Dairy Milk & White Half & Half Ultimate Egg, featuring creamy chunks of milk and white chocolate.
