Carl Woods has said his failed IVF treatments with Katie Price ended up being a ‘blessing in disguise’. The 46-year-old former glamour model dated the Love Island star, 35, for about three and a half years before breaking up in 2023. During their relationship, the pair underwent IVF treatment to try and have a child together, her sixth, but ultimately it wasn’t successful.
At the time the couple also let cameras follow their journey for a Channel 4 documentary, titled Katie Price: Making Babies, which is set to air next week. A source previously said she was ‘determined to show the raw and real side of IVF, and how it’s been a deeply personal struggle for her’.
However, now her ex-fiancé Carl has said he is relieved they didn’t end up having a child together. Instead, the car dealer said he was ‘not unhappy but ecstatic’ it didn’t work. ‘This is not a heartbreak situation. I’m sure she’s glad she’s got the clean break. You know, we don’t have any ties,’ he told The Sun.
‘So actually, yes, everything happens for a reason. God was looking down on me and Kate and said, “You’re not matched to be parents, let’s not make this work. You go that way, I’ll go this way”.’. Both Carl and Katie have said they won’t be watching the programme, with Carl saying it was ‘old news and everybody’s moved on’, adding he didn’t ‘see the point’ in it even going to air.
