Netflix has unveiled a sneak peek and thrilling details of an upcoming sports comedy set to hit the platform soon. The streaming giant, already off to a roaring start in 2025 with dramas like American Primeval, the return of XO, Kitty and the eagerly anticipated second season of The Night Agent all landing in January, is adding another must-watch series to its roster.
Romantic-comedy enthusiasts are in for a treat as Hollywood royalty Kate Hudson takes the lead in her first Netflix series, Running Point, this February. Hudson, fresh from her recent role in Netflix's popular sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in 2022, is back on the small screen.
The streaming service has just dropped an enticing first look, showcasing Hudson looking chic in a red suit as Isla Gordon, the newly appointed president of the fictitious world-renowned basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves. Will Isla bite off more than she can chew, or will she steer the Waves to triumph?.
Alongside her challenging new career, she'll also have to juggle a hefty dose of family drama, reports the Express. The official synopsis reveals: "When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business.
"Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job.". This exciting new series is the brainchild of comedy heavyweights Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen, and co-creator Elaine Ko, who boasts an impressive resume with hits like Modern Family and Only Murders in the Building.
