EERIE CCTV footage of a man running away from a crime scene after a woman was sexually assaulted has been released. The woman was subject to a "serious sexual incident" in Knottingley, West Yorkshire, on October 31, and cops are appealing for information. The chilling clip shows the man fleeing from the scene towards The Winston pub at around 7.25pm on Womersley Road. It's believed the suspect made off towards Knottingley Delta Academy High School and is said to be "approximately 19-20 years of age and of stocky build.".

The 12-second-video shows him walking along the street, lit up by street lights and surrounded by hedges, before he breaks into a run. The clip ends with the man running past a bus stop and out of frame. West Yorkshire Police shared the video on X urging anyone with information to come forward. The post was captioned: "Detectives in Wakefield are issuing some CCTV footage in a fresh appeal for information following a sexual assault in Knottingley last October.

"The clip shows a male appearing to run from the scene of the incident, down Womersley Road towards The Winston pub.". On November 4 last year defectives in Wakefield released an e-fit image in an attempt to track down the man. The image depicts a man with blonde short hair and blonde eyebrows, wearing dark rimmed glasses. He's wearing a blue puffer jacket, black or dark-coloured jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Cops released a more detailed statement on the West Yorkshire Police website. They said: "Detectives investigating a sexual assault in Knottingley have issued some CCTV footage in a fresh appeal for information. "The incident occurred in Womersley Road at about 7.25pm on Thursday, 31 October last year. "The footage shows a male appearing to run from the scene of the incident, down Womersley Road towards The Winston pub.

"Officers are now issuing this footage, together with an e-fit from the previous appeal in the hope that someone may recognise this male, who was said to be approximately 19-20 years of age and of stocky build.". Detective Constable Georgina Lumb, who is investigating this matter, said:  "We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our initial appeal. This helped us to identify some further lines of enquiry which we have followed up.
