Chris Eubank Jr has lashed out at Conor Benn ahead of their potential grudge match later this year. Eubank Jr, 35, told Mail Sport over the weekend that he was ready to finally face Benn, 28, and declared that an announcement on his next fight would be made 'in the next couple of weeks'.
But the fight is yet to be finalised, and Eubank Jr has now explained the reason behind the hold-up in a furious rant directed at Benn and his promoter Eddie Hearn on social media. He wrote on X on Tuesday evening: 'Just so you all know… these two rats @ConorNigel & @EddieHearn are now trying to enforce a rehydration restriction on me to make the fight. They talk a big game but when it actually comes down to it… just a pair of pussies.'.
According to ESPN, Eubank Jr's grudge match with Benn is being targeted for April 26 in London. It is understood that the fight would take place at the middleweight limit of 160lbs with a rehydration clause of 170lbs. Chris Eubank Jr is in talks to finally face his rival Conor Benn in a domestic grudge match.
Eubank Jr has hit out at Benn and his promoter Eddie Hearn for wanting a rehydration clause inserted into the fight contract. Eubank Jr has branded Benn and Hearn 'rats' and claimed they are holding up the fight being made. But Eubank Jr has made it clear he is not happy with having his weight restricted for the second weigh-in, which would occur on the morning of the fight.
