Tragic TV funnyman Duncan Norvelle's grieving partner has revealed how she played him Diamond's 'Story of my Life' as he lay dying in hospital. MailOnline revealed yesterday how the comic, famous for his catchphrase 'chase me!', died virtually penniless while living in his girlfriend Lynn Trevallion's £350,000 terraced home in Romford, Essex.
Duncan, 66, had suffered a stroke and was a far cry from his 1980s heyday when he graced nearly every television screen in the country on Saturday nights. In an exclusive interview Lynn, 75, told how she wiped his brow and held his hand by his hospital bed during the last days of his life – after requesting medical staff not to resuscitate him as a chest infection and sepsis took hold, following a year-long battle with a chronic lung condition.
Paying tribute to the comic adored millions of people, Lynn said: 'Duncan was never a complainer, He accepted his life as it was after his stroke 12 years ago. 'I never knew Duncan before his stroke or when he was in the best health, but he was a very loving man, kind and caring.'.
Lynn, a widowed grandmother, said she met the comic at a comedy event in Blackpool in 2012. Down on his luck with the millions he earned gone as his star faded, Ducan was in a wheelchair and living on disability benefits having been declared bankrupt.
