Conor McGregor has reacted to the news that the woman who won a civil assault claim against him is taking legal action to prevent the Irish star from publishing CCTV footage evidence which was shown in court. The 36-year-old faced an accusation in the civil action that he “brutally raped and battered” Nikita Hand in December 2018. McGregor told the court he had consensual sex with Ms Hand in a penthouse at the Beacon Hotel. McGregor was eventually found liable of assaulting Ms Hand - who accused him of rape.

Ms Hand won her claim against him for damages in a High Court civil case. A jury of eight women and four men spent six hours and 10 minutes deliberating before returning its verdict after days of listening to evidence and closing speeches. Former two-division UFC champion McGregor was eventually ordered to pay Ms Hand £200,000.

However, in recent post shared online, the Irishman reposted a comment about Ms Hand wanting the High Court to restrain publication of CCTV footage used in the trial. A number of the posts were from Italian entrepreneur Gabriel Ernesto Rapisarda - whose company, Gabriel & Spirits, helps to distribute McGregor's Forged Irish Stout in Italy.

In one post, Mr Rapisarda said: "Why don't they want to make public the video between Nikita and James in the elevator, many hours after the meeting between Nikita and Conor?" Another post read: "Since my name has been used in the last few days, let's clarify one thing, the video is a fundamental element of this shameful story, a video that clearly shows Nikita's party continued long after the meeting with Conor.".
