Abi Webster (Sally Carman) has been struggling in recent days, after she cradled Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) as he bled out from a stab wound. When Mason sadly died in hospital, Abi was reminded of the brutal attack on Seb that killed him. In 2021, Seb and girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were targeted in a hate crime, where they were beaten for being goths.

Though Nina pulled through, Seb succumbed to his injuries, having been kicked to death by Corey Brent. Since Mason’s death, Abi has been haunted by memories of the teen’s final moments, as well as having Seb’s attack brought to the front of her mind.

In tonight’s episode, Abi grew frustrated when the police failed to update her on Mason’s case, believing that she should be told given that she was the one who found him. She pointed out to husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that Seb’s killer had been allowed to walk free for months, and she didn’t want history to repeat itself.

Later, she confronted DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), insisting that he work harder to find Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge). England and Wales has seen an 80% increase in knife crime in the last 10 years. According to a study compiled up to June 2024, there have been 50,973 police-recorded offences involving a knife or sharp instrument.
