The news comes after ITV announced last week that its soaps would be cutdown to 30-minute episodes, meaning an hour less of Coronation Street and Emmerdale each week.
Marc Baylis, who plays Rob on the ITV soap, returned to the soap last month, with his character being sentenced to life in jail after murdering Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
"In a world where there is so much competition for viewers' time and attention, and viewing habits continue to change, we believe this is the right amount of episodes that fans can fit into their viewing schedule, to keep up to date with the shows.
"From 2026, and if the proposals are agreed, through consultation we would expect around 75 roles to be made redundant," an insider told us.
