Coronation Street fans amazed by Vicky Myers’ forgotten role with pop superstar

Coronation Street fans have taken to social media to express their surprise after spotting DS Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers in a forgotten role alongside a pop superstar. The actress has won fans’ hearts since being promoted to a series regular last year, with character Lisa embarking on a romance with show legend Carla Connor (Alison King).

Prior to joining Corrie full-time, Vicky had a whole host of roles in other TV series, including Ackley Bridge and The Long Shadow. However, it is her role in an Iceland advert alongside singer Peter Andre that has caught fans’ attention, after it resurfaced online. In the Christmas ad, which aired in 2014, Vicky’s character flirts with Peter, who is too busy getting excited over Iceland products to notice.

‘As if that’s Lisa from Corrie!’ One fan exclaimed, as another wrote: ‘My mind is actually blown.’. Since becoming a series regular in March last year, Lisa Swain has been at the centre of some huge storylines, including the hunt for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Lisa wrongly arrested Roy Cropper (David Neilson) for the teen’s murder, before setting her sights on true culprit Joel Deering. After daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) was caught up in Joel’s misdeeds and threats to her life were found on his laptop, Lisa was arrested on suspicion of his murder.

More recently, she has made things official with Carla, and is currently helping her through a difficult time as she waits to find out if Rob Donovan’s (Marc Baylis) kidney is a match. Lisa first appeared on screens in 2021 during the investigation into the hate crime that killed Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) and left Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) seriously injured. However, this isn’t Vicky’s first role on the ITV soap.

She made her first appearance in 1998 as a nurse in the background of Des Barnes’ final episode, and again in 2007 as a paramedic who arrived on the scene amid a fire. ‘I was in scenes with Denise Welch and Phil Middlemiss, who played Natalie and Des Barnes,’ she previously told The Mirror. ‘I was playing a nurse and it was the episode where Des died. To watch Denise, and to learn the jargon and etiquette, was incredible, money can’t buy that kind of experience.’.

In 2010, she had her first speaking role, as the unnamed driver who stopped to help Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) after he was caught in a car accident with wife Molly.
