Coronation Street has been pulled from schedules on Friday this week, but fans shouldn’t worry, as they will be treated to the next instalment of the ITV soap tonight. Instead of airing in its usual slots on Wednesday and Friday, the rest of this week’s Corrie episodes will air tonight and tomorrow, at the usual time of 8pm. Friday’s slot will be filled by coverage of an FA Cup match between Manchester United and Leicester City, which will air from 7.30pm on ITV One.

The change comes amid a huge week on the Manchester-based soap, as the locals deal with the dramatic fire that broke out in the Platt’s house during last night’s episode. The lives of both Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) are hanging in the balance, after they were both caught up in the blaze. After Toyah was knocked unconscious by Abi Webster (Sally Carman), she was caught up inside the house when a mystery assailant dropped a match through the front door.
