While the UK grapples with freezing temperatures, plunging many into disruptive conditions, some are taking pleasure in the cold weather. Taking to TikTok, Demi Fewkes shared a clip of one adventurous group skiing in the Peak District. It comes as Britain suffered its coldest January night on Friday, with the Met Office recording -18.7C in Altnaharra, the most northern region of the Highlands.
While enjoying a winter walk, Demi spotted a group taking to slopes in the Derbyshire Dales, branding them 'crazy'. As she recorded the clip, Demi said: 'That guy is skiing, what the hell, that's crazy. No way.'. The fitness and fashion influencer added in the caption: 'I didn't know people do this #peakdistrict #skiing'.
She added in the comment section: 'I've never seen someone just whip skis out in the wild aka not at a ski resort'. Another user took to the comment section to share how they had also spotted skiers in the area today, writing: 'There were so many people skiing today! I was so confused by the tracks at first'.
TikTok user Demi Fewkes spotted skiers taking to the slopes in England's Peak District earlier today. A second person thought similarly to Demi, saying: 'This is crazy!'. Other viewers were less surprised after seeing the clip, with one questioning: 'Why is it crazy, its snow?'.
