If you can solve this maths brainteaser then you are pretty much a genius. Most adults have been left totally confused by it even though it was supposedly made for young children. Despite how tricky this one is, it is well worth giving it your best shot - because challenging yourself mentally comes with a heap of benefits, including making you happier and healthier.

Solving challenging puzzles like this one can give you a boost of dopamine, which improves your mood, and it's a clever trick on the part of our brains because this kind of positive reinforcement helps make us more motivated generally - even with tasks that seem a bit daunting. Regularly trying your hand at puzzles, riddles, and brainteasers can improve your logical reasoning, attention to detail, and your memory - as well as potentially keeping some of the negative impacts of aging at bay.

This brainteaser was posted on Reddit by a seemingly baffled user who claimed he had been trying to help his three-year-old son solve it for what felt like forever, to no success. "Please help. My son got this math problem for his homework tonight and we have been trying for literally centuries, and yet I feel we have made no progress. We were thinking it might relate to elliptic curves but we gave up that idea because, after all, my son is 3," the social media user explained, adding that they had "no idea" why such a tricky problem had been assigned to a child so young. Take a look and see if you can solve it.

This brainteaser uses fruit instead of digits, and challenges you to find the answer to a tricky equation. The first row shows two lemons added together, that are greater than the number two. Seems simple enough to start off with, but the second row is where things get totally baffling.
