Plenty of clever puzzle fans on social media claim they solved a line challenge to join the dots with no problem - but can you? What might seem like a child’s puzzle could actually help your mind to refocus and improve your concentration for the more serious aspects of your life. Whether you have a stressful day of work to contend with, are drowning in Christmas shopping and planning, or simply feeling bored and unstimulated, it’s important to take some time out.
Research suggests that brain exercises which involve puzzles, riddles or mathematical problems to solve can help the mind to focus, therefore improving concentration. It’s thought that they could also help improve memory and are particularly recommended for the young and elderly. There’s also the feel-good factor which comes after you manage to solve the conundrum, that can in turn lead to a release of dopamine, which is important for improving our mood and well-being.

In the picture are a collection of dots, your job is to join them all by travelling from one to another. The catch is you can’t go back on yourself and travel along a line that you’ve already used.
