Donald Trump will reportedly call for a “revolution of common sense” during his inaugural address in Washington DC this evening. The formal ceremony will kick off at 12pm local time (5pm GMT) with tens of thousands of Americans and foreign nationals already lining up in -6C temperatures to watch the 78-year-old take the Oath of Office. According to an early extract from his prepared speech - shared with The Wall Street Journal - Trump will hint at a "new era of national success" as he addresses the American people this evening.

The publication claims the President will say: “I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country. My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization.”.

Trump's umpcoming speech has been designed to be optimistic, sources familiar with the drafting have revealed. He will also bluntly outline what he believes are the US' the most pressing issues - and how he can fix them. The President-elect promised to start his agenda immediately after his inauguration today by signing a wave of executive orders. These orders will jumpstart deportations, increase fossil fuel development and reduce civil service protections for government workers.

At his final pre-inauguration rally yesterday, he teased dozens of upcoming executive actions, promising that "by the time the sun sets" on Monday he will have signed executive orders involving border security and immigration policy, including a revival of Trump's first-term effort to shut down access to many new entries under what's called Title 42 emergency provisions.
