Dragons’ Den is back for another run of tense product pitches and fiery negotiations. Now in its 14th series, the show is just as watchable as ever, with a formula that delivers interesting products and plenty of drama from the business experts who are waiting to invest in those who take their fancy.
Here’s this year’s line-up of Dragons, who’ll be putting a whole host of entrepreneurs through their paces in the coming weeks. Don’t pretend you don’t know Deborah – she’s been a Dragon for 10 years now. She previously bought out Weststar Holidays, and sold it for £33m in 2005 – and has invested in countless businesses on Dragons’ Den over the years.
The longest-running Dragon on the show, Peter Jones has been on the panel since the very beginning. He co-owns the Red Letter Days experience business with former Dragon Theo Paphitis, and is the owner of Jessops. She might have only joined the series last year, but Sarah Willingham makes for an excellent Dragon. Her background is in food as the former owner of the Bombay Bicycle Club chain of restaurants – so expect her to be particularly tempted by any pitches for edible products.
Cyprus-born Londoner Touker Suleyman joined Dragons’ Den in 2015, with a background in fashion. His expertise lies in the supply chain as the owner of the Low Profile Group, which supplies the likes of Marks & Spencer. Another 2015 addition to the show, Nick Jenkins is the founder of online greetings card company MoonPig – named after his school nickname. He sold the business in 2011 for £120m, and has key knowledge in building up businesses’ online profiles.
