Viewers have been given their first confirmed EastEnders storyline for the BBC soap's 40th anniversary. Amid rumours of returns, deaths, big twists and even reports of a devastating fire destroying The Queen Vic, the soap has let slip a major detail about one episode in particular. The episode set to air on the show's 40th birthday, February 19th, will see one couple prepare to tie the knot.
During the eventful Christmas Day episode, one couple announced they had picked a date for their wedding. And, you guessed it, they selected February 19th 2025. Honey and Billy Mitchell, who recently got engaged years after their first marriage ended, confirmed to their loved ones this would be their big day. Telling them to save the date, they shared the very date that the soap first aired four decades ago.
It's thought but not confirmed that this could be when the live episode airs, given this is the show's actual birthday. With all kinds of hints being dropped about the big week of episodes, with boss Chris Clenshaw teasing shocking twists and turns ahead, we now have a confirmed plot - a wedding.
But does this also give away who is in danger, and who might die if there is in fact a death or two? After all, most wedding receptions tend to happen at The Vic. Judging by some recent pictures from filming, the famous pub is set to explode during the 40th anniversary. Images obtained by other publications showed a black vehicle outside of the pub, thought to have crashed into it.
