Christmas might be around the corner, but some shops have already started stocking their shelves with Easter treats - and it's left social media users divided. Liberty Lester, from Jersey, spotted an aisle full of seasonal chocolate after visiting her local Alliance supermarket on December 16.
Taking to X, the dumbfounded shopper posted a photo of her discovery on her account @libertylester, alongside the caption, 'He's not even born yet,' seemingly referring to the birth of Jesus in December. In the photo, four shelves can be seen packed with seasonal fan favourites, including Cadbury Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs and mini Smarties Easter eggs.
The post has since sparked a debate among Brits on social media, as people argue as to whether Easter chocolate should be available to buy throughout the year. Referring to the Alliance branch highlighted by Lester, one Jersey resident wrote, 'They also have Valentines cards,' to which Lester responded, 'I love organised people but that's too much.'.
Another person joked: 'Read your bible. The wise men brought gold, cadbury creme, and myrrh.'. Others appeared triggered by the early arrival of Easter chocolate, with one person writing: 'Utter woke nonsense.'. Liberty Lester, from Jersey, spotted an aisle full of seasonal chocolate after visiting her local Alliance supermarket on December 16.
Another commented: 'Our shop got them yesterday....'. A third quizzed, 'Did we sleep through Christmas?' while a fourth raged: 'Ridiculous!!!'. Meanwhile, a number of Brits voiced support over the idea of Easter chocolate being available to buy year-round.
