2025 in Emmerdale is already off to a dramatic start, but there’s plenty more excitement, chaos and tragedy ahead to keep us going through the freezing winter months. So far this year, we’ve seen Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) face a tough first day on the job in A&E, suspicions surrounding Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) Christmas Day death mounting and an unexpected romance in Home Farm.

We’ve also been witness to Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) devastating search for missing daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), as well as Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) brave confession to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) about the abuse she suffered as a child.

We saw Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) frantically running through some woodland, as Caleb Miligan (William Ash) seemingly died on an operating table. His half-brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) then stands beside a grave, though we can’t see whose name is on the headstone.

A body bag is then pushed from the bridge into the cold river, and in a separate shot, a hand can be seen tapping on the frozen ice below a lake. Marlon’s heart dropped over Christmas when he went up to April’s bedroom, only to find she wasn’t there. She has yet to return home, with fears for her safety mounting.
