ESPN is slammed by fans for focusing on Georgia walk-on Parker Jones after sideline blunder in Sugar Bowl defeat

College football fans have ripped into ESPN for repeatedly showing University of Georgia's Parker Jones following his sidelines blunder. The redshirt sophomore was caught in an embarrassing moment during Georgia's 23-10 Sugar Bowl defeat to Notre Dame.

Early in the second quarter, in the first play of Georgia's third drive against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, quarterback Gunner Stockton completed a pass to wideout Arian Smith for a massive gain of 67 yards. However, the play was erased after it was determined that Parker had collided with side judge JB Garza.

Jones, who was not suited up for the game, had slightly crossed over the sideline in excitement and was unable to get out of Garza's way in time causing the side judge to collide with him. The result of that was a flag for sideline interference that ended up turning from a ball on the Notre Dame 11 to the Notre Dame 26.

Instead of the drive potentially finishing in the endzone, Georgia had to settle for a field goal. Following the incident ESPN cameras continuously panned to Jones on the sidelines, who was then standing as far back from the field as possible. But fans on social media blasted the network for unfairly focusing on the cornerback, as while he may have potentially cost Georgia points, he didn't singlehandedly cost Kirby Smart's team the entire game.
