While many Brits have their favourite holiday hotspots they return to year after year, some are looking to venture off the beaten track. This shift in travel trends has seen certain cities experience a sudden surge in tourism, and it seems this trend is set to continue.
With this in mind, one travel guru has revealed a list of cities predicted to become tourist hotspots in the coming years and suggests visiting them now before they become too popular. Travel influencer Simon Blok, who shares his adventures on Instagram as @travelmorewithsimon, has listed 19 cities that he believes "you must visit before they become too popular".
In his post, he added: "How many have you visited? Travelling is all about the thrill of exploring new places, meeting people, and experiencing the world from fresh perspectives.". As reports the Express, the Georgian capital of Tbilisi topped the list. Holidaymakers have reported finding hotel rooms for as little as £10, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a budget-friendly holiday while still discovering somewhere new. Tripadvisor reports hotels prices start from £15.
Riga in Latvia and Porto were next on the list, with several of Simon's followers arguing that the Portuguese city is already a hit with tourists. One follower noted: "Porto already receives 2.5 million tourists annually - that's extremely popular.". Another chimed in: "I was in Porto six years ago and it was crowded then. I can just imagine what it's like now.".
