Ex-Australia captain Michael Clarke names the ‘best fast bowler of all time’ Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has hailed India star Jasprit Bumrah as the ‘best fast bowler of all time’ across all three formats.
Given Bumrah is also the best white-ball bowler in the world – he averages 23 in 50-over cricket and goes at less than seven-runs-an-over in T20s – Clarke believes he may well be the best all-format bowler of all time.
‘I know a lot of great fast bowlers, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath, didn’t get to play T20 cricket, so I’m not talking about those guys, but in regards to anyone who has played all three formats, I think he might be the best ever.
Bumrah underlined his status as the best bowler in the world during India’s recent defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Another former Australia cricketer, Brad Haddin, also heaped praise on Bumrah following his scintillating performances during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
