Former NFL player Emmanuel Acho has called Fernando Carmona 'trash' after his deliberate ankle stomp on a defenseless rival. Furious college football fans took to social media at the weekend to call for Carmona to be banned for life after a shocking piece of foul play in the Arkansas Razorbacks' 39-26 win over Texas Tech in Friday's Liberty Bowl.

Footage caught the moment players from both teams were trying to get back to their feet after a six-yard rush by Braylen Russell with Carmona, a team captain, stood up above the pile. Texas Tech player CJ Baskerville could be seen lying on the ground, seemingly still down after making a tackle.

It's at that moment that Carmona purposefully stomped on Baskerville's ankle, pushing all of his weight down on to his opponent's leg. The act prompted furious backlash online with Baskerville and fans calling out Carmona for the disgusting act. Former NFL player Emmanuel Acho has called Arkansas player Fernando Carmona 'trash'.

Acho joined the backlash on social media after his deliberate ankle stomp on CJ Baskerville. And former NFL star Acho, who played for the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants in his career, has now weighed in. He posted on X: 'I’m sharing this because #55 (Carmona) is trash for this and deserves public shame. The end.'.
