A fashion guru has revealed a wild hack using a common household item that will leave your sweaters smelling much better this winter. The information was revealed this week in a TikTok made by user Katie Little Patz, who is a boutique owner and social media influencer. And, it turns out that her trick of the trade is to start spraying your sweaters with vodka. Yes, that's right - vodka. 'You can spray your sweater in this region if you struggle with different scents, if you will,' she began the video, gesturing to her underarms.

'All you need to do is take a spray bottle, put a little vodka in it, and you spray it inside of your sweater in the area that you might need help in,' the shop owner continued, as she sprayed a spot of her cable-knit sweater. The little hack will keep your sweaters 'fresh' and 'long-lasting,' Little Patz promised. She knows from personal experience, too, as she explained that she was currently on a longer trip to Europe and had been spraying her own clothing with the alcohol.

The information was revealed this week in a TikTok made by user Katie Little Patz, who is a boutique owner and social media influencer. 'You can spray your sweater in this region if you struggle with different scents, if you will,' she began the video, gesturing to her underarms (stock image). 'It's literally a lifesaver, if you deal with this, then you know,' she promised. However, Little Patz advised against spraying vodka on cashmere sweaters, as that can damage its fibers.

She also shared that you should not dilute the vodka in water, either. And, interestingly enough, it looks like Little Patz might be onto something here. Apartment Therapy once recommended the same tip, explaining that not only is it colorless and odorless, but it also has a 'sanitizing effect.'. The outlet explained that as the vodka evaporates, it gets rid of any foul smell. The Wall Street Journal also co-signed the tip this summer, writing about the trick in a story about various laundry hacks.

They wrote that spraying vodka can even work on a sweaty, stinky gym bag. Apartment Therapy once recommended the same tip, explaining that not only is it colorless and odorless, but it also has a 'sanitizing effect'. In the comments section of Little Patz's video, others even shared their own tips for getting rid of odor on clothing. 'Also putting it a freezer kills bacteria,' one user offered. Another wrote, 'I wear a crop undershirt under every sweater / oversized top too.'.
