Ferrari in late swoop to sign new F1 driver alongside Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc Zhou Guanyu has been handed a Formula 1 lifeline with a return to Ferrari.
Giovinazzi has remained in the fold even after losing his place on the F1 grid and forms part of the Scuderia's driving team in the World Endurance Championship.
In truth, he already has one as the team principal of the fledgling outfit, Graeme Lowdon, has worked with Zhou as part of his management team.
The Chinese driver lost his place on the F1 grid at the end of last season after three seasons racing for Sauber.
Zhou's final season on the grid was difficult with Sauber comfortably the least performant team on the grid.
