A florist attempted to arrange for her husband's murder as she did not want to feed him - but her request was deemed too brutal even for her contract killer. Eva Zámečníková, 43, has been on the run since she botched the hiring of an assassin to have her husband killed and was sentenced to eight years for the attempted murder back in 2020. The Slovak attempted to arrange for her contract killer to murder her husband in a particularly gruesome way.
She planned the killing down to the last detail, including the date and the weapon that was to be used. Her husband was to be struck with an electric shock device before being strangled to death with a rope. While walking through her house, Zámečníková also showed him where the killing should take place. But the contract killer instead went to the police and told them about her murder scheme. He claimed Zámečníková did not want to "support" or "feed" him and that she wanted the house, in the village of Chocholná-Velčice, in northwest Slovakia, that they lived in to herself. As part of Zámečníková's plan, she would declare her husband missing after two years.
Zámečníková is wanted by Europol, the law enforcement agency for the European Union, over the attempted murder of his husband. "According to the indictment, the businesswoman ordered the murder of her husband from/ on 15.January, 2014, and wanted to pay 50,000 euros (£41,000) for it. However, the 'hitman' turned to the police and became a crown witness. "The day of the murder was to be January 24, 2014. She planned to declare her husband missing after two years, and thus get the rest of their house. According to the crown witness, the reason why she wanted to get rid of her husband is also that she did not want to 'feed her husband'.".
